The Highlights!
- A full day on the Isle of Skye to explore it's myths and legends.
- Get off the beaten track and explore the mountains, lochs and glens of Torridon.
- Loch Lomond, Kilmartin Glen with Neolithic tombs, standing stones and Dunadd Fort, the ancient capital of the Gaels.
- The dramatic scenery and history of Glencoe.
- A night spent within walking distance of Loch Ness ... perfect for a bit of monster spotting!

Day 1 - Leaving Edinburgh, we drive straight out to the Forth bridges before making our way into Perthshire for a great forest walk before stopping at Pitlochry for lunch. After we'll enjoy a wee dram at a distillery nestled in amongst the mountains - the perfect way to be welcomed to Scotland! We'll continue north to Culloden Battlefield where we will hear the history surrounding the last stand of the Jacobites. Afterwards there's time for a little spot of monster hunting on Loch Ness before arriving at our hostel in the lively wee village of Lewiston for the evening. There are a few pubs for those looking to enjoy another wee dram or two!
Day 4 - Today we make our way into the remoter area's of Scotland with our first stop being at Rogie Falls for a short walk to beautiful waterfalls. We continue winding our way into the Torridon Mountains where you'll see native Caledonian Pine forest, beautiful lochs and rugged mountains perhaps with a dusting of snow! After lunch we'll experience a superb seafood boat trip where local wildlife occasionally turn up! For the next two nights we'll make our home on the picturesque west coast.
Day 3 - A full and active day round the Isle of Skye, with lots of walks and time to take in the magic. You'll see the Cuillin Mountains, the Old Man of Storr (an incredible Jurassic pillar) and hear some amazing legends, visit the fascinating Kilt Rock, and take in absolutely awe-inspiring panoramas in the Quiraing. Perfect preparation for a few wee drams to reflect on a day of tales and legends.
Day 4 - This morning we'll catch a glimpse of Eilean Donan Castle (where Highlander was filmed) as we begin our journey south. It's then onto Fort William before making our way into the breathtaking Glencoe (hear about the massacre of Clan MacDonald). It's then Loch Awe with Kilchurn Castle and St Conan's Kirk before arriving in the lively fishing town of Oban for our last night together!
Day 5 - Our last day together, we head south towards the mysterious Standing Stones of Kilmartin Glen and climb to the top of Dunadd Fort to find out how our nation was defined. Afterwards we'll drive along the Argyll coastline, perhaps tasting a fresh oyster at Loch Fyne before a last stop at Loch Lomond (you'll take the high road).
We're certain that this will be a really special trip, and one you'll remember for a long time to come. We look forward to seeing you.
Tour itineraries and accommodation can vary due to acts of God etc, but we normally stick to this. Kitty includes accommodation, evening meals and breakfast plus entrance to a distillery, seafood boat trip and, on selected dates, entrance to Highland Games.
